Julia Braune

Julia Braune has been the Chairwoman and CEO of the executive management board of Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) since February 2023. From October 2017 to January 2023, she was the Managing Director of German Water Partnership, supporting the internationally oriented German water industry to develop foreign markets. Prior to taking up this position, she was active as the managing director of various companies associated with the REMONDIS Aqua Group. During the period 2009 to 2012, Julia Braune was Head of Corporate Development at the EURAWASSER Group, where she was responsible for strategic business development in Germany and developed and oversaw numerous projects with municipal and industrial cooperation partners. From 2003 to 2008, she held a number of material flow and project management positions at the ALBA Group, a collection of companies active in the circular economy. Julia Braune studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität Bonn (University of Bonn). She completed her legal internship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf and graduated with the second German state law examination.
